Permits for the 2013-14 School Year

We will be posting the online application for ordering a parking permit for the new school year soon. We plan on having it available from May 27-July 19, 2013.

You will be able to fill out the application and submit it. We will then mail the permit to the address listed on the application. If you will have a new car that does not have a real license plate, you will need to wait to apply for a decal until you get your license plate. You will be able to apply for a temporary if you don’t have a license plate for the first day of classes.

TEMPORARY PERMIT APPLICATION

Driving a different car to campus today? You can now download and print an application for a temporary parking permit. Just fill out the application with your information and the information of the vehicle that you will be driving. Bring your application to our office and we will give you a temporary permit. Each temporary permit issued is valid for that one vehicle for two consecutive weeks. You are allowed to have two free temporary permits per semester only if you have a current decal from that school year. If you have not purchased a decal for the school year and get a temporary permit, you will be charged the full price of a permit. The parking rules for use of a temporary permit are the same as those with a regular permit.

2013 Mardi Gras Parking Times

For the parade at 5:30 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2013: Campers will be allowed to park only between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Campers will remain overnight but must leave by noon on the following day.
Vehicle spaces will be opened up at 12:00 pm for those who purchased a reserved space in advance. All vehicles purchasing a space the day of the parade will not be allowed in until 2:00 pm.

For the parades beginning at 12:30 pm on Sunday, February 10, 2013: Campers will be allowed to park only between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm on the Saturday before the parades. Campers will remain overnight and will have to leave directly following the parades on Sunday.
Vehicles spaces will be opened up at 8:00 am for those who purchased a reserved space in advance. All vehicles purchasing a space the day of the parade will not be allowed in until 9:00 am. All vehicles will be directed to leave immediately following the parades.

2013 Mardi Gras Parade Parking Application & Policies Now Available

Our policies and application for reserving a parking space along the parade route is now available here.

We will begin accepting applications on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. You will not have a reserved space until a completed application and full payment are received. We only accept checks or money orders made out to Nicholls State University. NO CASH IS ACCEPTED!

You can bring your application and payment to the Police Department in Calecas Hall. Payments will be accepted from 8am – 12pm and 1pm – 4pm Monday-Friday when the University is open.

ATTENTION SUMMER SESSION STUDENTS

Students beginning classes for the FIRST time at Nicholls State University during the Summer 2012 semester MUST have a current parking permit properly displayed by the first day of classes. There is NO grace period. Come to Parking Services with your Colonel Card and vehicle registration prior to the first day of classes to pick up your permit. Summer permits are available at a discounted price of $15 if applied for after spring graduation.

Permits purchased during the fall and spring semesters are still valid for the summer.

Decals which were purchased for the academic year 2011-2012 do not expire until July 31, 2012. Being that grades for the summer session are not due until August 3, 2012, there will be a grace period on August 1-3, 2012.

June 4 through July 13, 2012 you can only fill out the application on-line and have the permit mailed to you. Beginning July 16, we will be accepting applications in our office and you will get your permit at that time.
