On Tuesday, September 20, the Nicholls Foundation will again join with the Department of Music to host the 4th annual Monster Piano Concert. This year’s concert marks a very special occasion. Representatives of Steinway and Sons will be on hand to recognize Nicholls State University as an All Steinway School. Nicholls becomes one of only 125 schools internationally to be selected for this designation. We are the only state university to receive this honor, and only one of two in the entire state of Louisiana. As Dr. Hulbert promised when we began this journey, we achieved this milestone through the generosity of our loyal donors. This initiative was totally funded by private donors with the support of the Nicholls Foundation. We are very proud of this accomplishment and know that this adds to the aura of excellence that we associate with Nicholls.
Because this is such a noteworthy event, we will have not six, but all 21 magnificent Steinway pianos on stage, and our faculty, students, alumni, and other talented pianists will perform individually and together to bring you some more beautiful and rousing music.
The evening will begin with wine and hors d’oeuvres at 6:30. The music is scheduled to begin at 7:30. Reservations are $50 per person, including food, drink, and the concert. All proceeds will go toward maintaining these pianos for the music program at Nicholls State University.
