Bachelor of Arts in Music
The following is a general overview of the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Music degree.

General Education
- Natural Sciences - 9 hours
Must take two consecutive biological sciences and one physical science.
-OR-
Must take two consecutive physical sciences and one biological science.
- Social Sciences - 6 hours
Must be taken from two different disciplines (3 hours each).
- 300-level courses - 45 hours
Must take 45 hours of 300-level courses or above to include:

Minor Studies or Career Cluster
The Bachelor of Arts in Music requires completion of a career cluster of elective courses suited to the individual’s interest. A minimum of 18 hours is required (15 of which must be of 300-level or above courses). Although 18 hours are required, if a student wishes to receive a minor in some area of study, he/she must complete the minor required by the department in which that discipline is housed. The prescribed minor may exceed the 18 hours and, in many cases, may require 21 to 24 hours to complete. For a description of those minors, please refer to the University Catalog.

*Must include three hours of Art, Theater or Philosophy 101. The above listing is not a definitive list of minors offered at Nicholls but a selection of those whose requirements closely complete the requirement of an additional 15 hours of coursework numbered 300 or above.
- Career Cluster:
The individual career cluster consists of approved electives related to a career choice, with 15 hours of coursework numbered 300 or above. All students should meet with their adviser and discuss the career cluster option and begin taking those courses no later than year three, semester one.
