Frances Hebert
Instructor of Music
Frances Hebert has been a music educator in Louisiana public schools for 31 years, serving for past 23 and a half years as the director of choirs at Acadiana High in Lafayette. She has also served on the Louisiana Music Educators Association board for the past 16 years and is currently the organization’s vocal chairman.
Hebert’s experience in music education spans all grade levels including Pre-K, kindergarten and elementary classroom music instruction; middle school and high school choirs; and private piano and voice lessons. She served as accompanist for operas and musicals and as a private piano instructor during her tenure as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s staff accompanist.
For 32 years, Hebert has served in church music ministry as a pianist and choir director and is a former member and assistant to the director of the Lafayette community choir, Chorale Acadienne. She is a member of American Choral Directors Association, Sigma Alpha Iota and Kappa Delta Pi. She has served on numerous state committees for curriculum development in elementary music, fine arts survey and Louisiana content standards as well as the Superintendent’s Task Force on Arts Education and State Collaboration on Assessment and Student Standards Arts Assessment Committee. Additionally, Hebert has been a state evaluator for Talented Music.
Hebert is sought as adjudicator, choir clinician and presenter for a variety of seminar topics in music education and church music program development. She is the mother of three sons. She and her husband, Reggie, enjoy traveling and spending time with their four grandchildren.
