Charlotte Pipes

Charlotte PipesAssociate Professor of Music

Since 1980, Dr. Charlotte Pipes has taught vocal performance and voice-related courses in Italian, German, and French diction, as well as vocal pedagogy. Currently, she also teaches the advanced courses in music history.

As an actress and theater director, Pipes has appeared in numerous professional productions around the state. Over the past few years, Pipes has participated in the creation of the University Honors program. She serves as secretary of the Faculty Honors Committee and teaches a music course in the program.

Pipes is also a designated talent evaluator for the State of Louisiana. She travels to different locations throughout the year to hear students of all ages who display an exceptional talent in the areas of music and/or drama. She interviews these students, evaluates their performances and makes written recommendations to their local school board office, teachers and counselors on how to nurture the creative abilities of these students.
