Science Olympiad
As the host of Region 3 Science Olympiad, Nicholls State University has had a wonderful opportunity to reach out to many students by providing a friendly competition of scientific minds. Dr. Glenn Lo is the director and Ms. Cindy Lamberty is the physical sciences coordinator of the Science Olympiad.
Science Fair
For many years Nicholls State University has served as the host of the Region X Science and Engineering Fair held every March. Ms. Cindy Lamberty serves as a judge and coordinator of judges and volunteers for the fair. She also support high school students in their projects here at Nicholls by providing chemical and instrument expertise. Currently she is assisting a local school district to train the teachers to be mentors for science fair students.

Dr. Chadwick Young provides physics tutoring for high school students through his physics students. Last year, his students offered over 100 hours of free tutoring in physics.
