TO: Nicholls State University Family
Accompanying this correspondence, you will find a letter from Dr. Randy Moffett, President of the University of Louisiana System, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the Nicholls State University family in response to Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. I am sharing Dr. Moffetts communication to demonstrate that state authorities recognize just how well the Nicholls community responded to the events of the past weeks.
Clearly, the hard work and dedication of staff did much to protect the university, insure the safety and support of students and staff, and respond to the needs of the broader community.
Nicholls found a new role in the aftermath of Gustav as a staging area for the personnel of Troop C of the Louisiana State Police, the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and the Coast Guard, among other state and federal entities.
I genuinely appreciate the work of everyone involved in that effort.
