Dr. J. Steven Welsh, Head
Head of the Department of Psychology and Counselor Education and Professor of Psychology
In addition to serving as the department head of psychology and counselor education, Dr. Steven Welsh is also the College of Education coordinator of graduate studies.
Welsh is licensed to practice psychology, with a declared specialty in school psychology, by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. His recent intellectual musings have explored the function of evolutionary adaptations on the development of behavioral repertoires.
Welsh is also interested in studying the effects of chronic poverty on educational opportunities and outcomes for children.
