Minors
Psychology Minor
Students who are not majoring in Psychology may complete a minor in the field by earning 21 semester hours of credit as follows:
PSYC 101
PSYC 204 or 211
PSYC 208 or 301 or 302 or 402
and 12 hours of electives in Psychology.
Note: Students majoring in a teacher education program are not allowed to select a minor in psychology.
Child, Family & Social Services, Addictive Behaviors, or Gerontology
Students who are not majoring in Child, Family & Social Services may minor in Child, Family & Social Services, Addictive Behaviors, or Gerontology.
Nineteen hours of coursework with a minimum grade of C in each course is required for a minor. Minors available and course requirements are as follows:
| Addictive Behaviors | FACS 131, 334, 448, 461, 464, 471; NURS 307; and SOCI 387. These courses meet the coursework requirements of the state for certification as a substance abuse counselor. |
| Family and Consumer Sciences (Child, Family & Social Services) |
FACS 130, 334, 461, 464 PSYC 204 and PSYC 301. |
| Gerontology | FACS 131, 334, 464, 470; NURS 352, and PSYC 212. |
