Welcome PT3 Participants (Fall 04)

The October Calendar of trainings can be accessed by clicking on the Calendar Button to the left. Click here to view descriptions of the classes. To register for classes, click on the underlined time of the class or the Click Here to Register button at the top of the calendar. When the registration window appears, you will be prompted for information. K-12 teachers should select Other K-12 Teachers as their classification. Feel free to explore other buttons for an overview of PT3.

Cyber Meetings 4 & 5

A few PT3 notes:

• Cyber Meetings 4 & 5 are now in session on the PT3 Blackboard Site.
• The April calendar/registration will be posted on the web early next week. There will be a cadre meeting in April.
• The PT3 spring workshop has been tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 2.. Although all participants are invited to attend, you are only required to attend one workshop. Participants who attended the fall workshop/LACUE on November 8 may opt to apply attendance at the June 2 workshop towards training hours.
• Please do not forget to visit the PT3 Blackboard site (Discussion Board) to participate in the PT3 showcase.
• There are a few online opportunities for earning training hours (hardware, one computer classroom, and soon, copyright issues). Visit the Assignment area of Blackboard for further information.

Board of Regents to host UDL Workshop

The Board of Regents will be hosting a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) workshop entitled:

ANYTIME, ANYPLACE, ANYONE II
Statewide Workshop Series about
Ensuring Electronic Access for K-20 Students

on Saturday, April 17, 2004 from 8:30am to 3:00pm at the Claiborne Conference Center in Baton Rouge. For more information about the workshop and to register, please visit their website. Don't feel left out if you can't make it to Baton Rouge to attend the workshop - the workshop will be available at Nicholls State University via video conference. Other sites include Bossier Community College and LA Tech University. If you are interested in viewing via compressed video at Nicholls, contact Andrew Simoncelli for more information.

University Faculty: Need Urgent Inventory Help

The College of Education is currently completing their inventory, and it appears that many of your computers (PT3 program) are on their inventory list. Could you please check the side of your computer case for a State of Louisiana inventory tag, and send me the last 5 digits of the number found on this tag. Once all of the computers are located, steps will be taken to transfer ownership of this equipment to the appropriate departments. Mary de la Bretonne needs this information as quickly as possible. Your assistance in this matter will be deeply appreciated.

Welcome to our New Website!

We've worked hard to design a website that is visually cleaner and more appealing, and at the same time, make it easy to navigate and add a number of new features.

The PT3 Spotlight is a new section created to highlight exceptional projects and help us document outstanding participation in the PT3 project.

We are currently still working on the MOVIE section, so at the moment, there are no links available. We will begin working on expanding the RESOURCES section and updating the TRAININGS section soon. We will also continue to expand the STATISTICS section when we have time to crunch the numbers.

Blackboard 6 is up and running

I have changed the Blackboard links on our website to the new Blackboard 6 server. There are some new features, but it should operate no different than the previous version (v5). If anyone has any questions or problems, please drop me an email.
