During
the course of the year, the PT3 staff and the Technology
Learning Teaching Center Staff (TLTC) will conduct a variety
of technological training sessions. These training sessions
are designed to provide in-depth coverage of instructional
technology methods (such as those surveyed in INTECH/Quest)
and to enhance those individual technological skills that
will serve to engage their students in the use of technology.
In attempt to accommodate all participants, training sessions
will be conducted at a variety of times and dates. Participants
have the flexibility to attend those trainings of interest
at a time that fits their schedule. Those participants
residing a distance from the University may opt to attend
the Saturday training sessions in order to accumulate a
larger of number of hours for each trip to Thibodaux. We
do require that 5 of the 40 required training hours be
earned by attending either the Fall or Spring PT3 Technology
Workshop.
In
order to maintain the integrity and focus of our project,
only training sessions sanctioned by the PT3 staff will
serve to satisfy the PT3 training requirement. This intent
of our training requirement is not to supplant professional
development necessary for the performance of your current
duties, but rather to supplement these opportunities.
Therefore, training sessions offered through the University
(institutes, Passport, conferences, etc.) will not be
applicable. Sessions conducted through academic computing
and/or “The Quest” are applicable (i.e.Diane
Leger). Only training completed during period in which
you are enrolled in PT3 will be applicable. However,
In order to meet the needs of individuals who wish to
explore unique areas of specific need, the PT3 staff
will seek to enlist the services of consultants or authorize
training outside the realm of the PT3 staff.
