Credentials
The Nicholls advanced course offerings in respiratory therapy meet the criteria for optional/advanced credentialing by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Students who successfully complete the specific advanced course offerings, which are included in the advanced cardiopulmonary care curriculum, may acquire credentials including:
- Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) and/or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)
- Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Students may be eligible for additional credentials depending upon which electives they choose to take. Students should consult with their adviser before scheduling. They may be eligible to acquire credentials from Cardiovascular Credentialing International including:
