Certificate in Advanced Respiratory Therapy

Nicholls respiratory therapy advanced coursework provides individuals who already have a professional credential/license in respiratory therapy to acquire advanced credentials and gain extensive practical experience. In two semesters, students earn 17 credit hours of academic, laboratory and clinical experiences. Students learn to treat infants with cardiopulmonary dysfunctions, perform monitoring and testing techniques such as electrocardiography and chest radiography, manage a department staff and budget and recognize the effects of antibiotics and cardiovascular drugs. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to pursue advanced-level credentials in respiratory therapy, cardiovascular technology and neonatal/pediatric respiratory care.
