- Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care (LSRC)
LSRC encourages and develops regional educational programs for those persons interested in the field of respiratory care. The organization also provides regional institutes, meetings, lectures and newsletters and facilitates cooperation between respiratory care personnel and the medical profession, hospitals, service companies, industry and other agencies within the state interested in Respiratory Care.
- American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC)
AARC advances the science, technology, ethics and art of respiratory care through research and education for its members and teaches the general public about pulmonary health and disease prevention.
- American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF)
The ARCF is a not-for-profit organization formed to support research, education and charitable activities. The American Respiratory Care Foundation offers several award programs to promote respiratory care education and research.
Credentialing Organizations
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
The NBRC provides credentialing examinations for practitioners of respiratory therapy and pulmonary function technology, establishes credentialing standards, issues certificates to and prepares directory of credentialed individuals, promotes the use of respiratory care in treating human ailments, supports ethical and educational standards of respiratory care and cooperates with accrediting agencies to support respiratory care education.
- Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME)
The LSBME determines qualifications of licensure applicants and disciplines licensees who do not follow the rules or adhere to generally accepted standards of practice. The site provides licensees applications for initial and renewal licensure, rules and opinions related to your practice and educational resources.
