THANKS!!!

Welcome!

The Louisiana Region I Science Olympiad 2010

will be held at Nicholls State University on February 27, 2010 (second Saturday after Mardi Gras).

The Science Olympiad is a tremendous opportunity for students to compete in a non-threatening environment, illustrate their knowledge of science, meet other students, win awards, and have a good time. Individual first, second, and third place Olympic-style medals will be given for each event.  Trophies will be awarded to top five teams, who will be eligible to compete in the Louisiana State Science Olympiad Tournament at Southeastern Louisiana University and the team that finishes first in the state competition will be eligible to compete in the National Science Olympiad tournament. A team must compete in the Regional Competition to qualify for the state tournament. Students compete in two divisions: Division B, which is for grades 6-9 and Division C, which is for grades 9-12. School administrators must complete a separate application for each division.

Participating schools must file their national membership through the Louisiana State Science Olympiad organizers.  Multiple teams from each school for each division may be permitted, provided separate fees are paid for each team.  A separate registration is required for the regional tournament.    For a checklist of things to do, click here
