| Teachers trying to qualify by exception must also submit the following documents: |
SACS Qualified Status:
“Qualified” status designation requires the “faculty teaching general education courses at the undergraduate level to have a doctor’s or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).”
SACS Exceptional Status:
“Qualified by Exception” status designation requires the faculty to have related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes. Using information provided by the faculty member in the ‘Matrix of Relevant Qualifications to Course Outcomes’ form, exceptional status designation will be determined by Nicholls faculty in the discipline.
