The purpose of the Jumbo Gumbo & Bayou Best Cook-Off is to raise awareness of the Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival held annually in March.  The mission of the Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival at Nicholls State University is to showcase Cajun and Zydeco music and culture to our students, the local and regional community, and out-of-state guests.  The Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival reinforces regional pride in our music and unique culture with our students and the diverse population of South Louisiana, thereby meeting the university’s mission of serving the educational needs of South Louisiana.  All funds raised will be used to offset the expenses of the Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival and its free educational programs for the youth (K-12) of our area.

Jumbo Gumbo & Bayou Best Cook-Off Entry Fee:

$100 per team (after March 13, late registration fee will be $150)
