Like most seniors, Linda Boudreaux was looking forward to her graduation this spring. Except this was her third commencement ceremony at Nicholls and one she shared with her two children, who graduated at the same ceremony.
Boudreaux, a kindergarten teacher at Schriever Elementary, is working on a master’s degree in school guidance counseling. In 2002, she was honored as Terrebonne Parish Teacher of the Year, an award she attributes to her Nicholls education.
“The early childhood program at Nicholls was and still remains an outstanding program,” Boudreaux says. “My professors and supervising teachers were excellent role models for me as a teacher.
Boudreaux says the family atmosphere that develops between the students is what she likes best about Nicholls.
“There still remains a bond among the friends I made while attending Nicholls,” she says. “The advice that I have for current students is to not allow quitting or giving up to be an option once you’ve begun your studies. Keep pressing on even if it appears that you can’t make it.”
