Study in an authentic learning environment.
The Department of Teacher Education is committed to providing students with specialized facilities and resources that promote hands-on learning. The department’s unique classroom settings and resources enable students to experience authentic teaching and learning environments. A variety of technological tools available for individual student use greatly enhances the department’s student-centered teaching approach.
The majority of the teacher education classes are taught in Polk Hall. Classrooms and offices in Stopher and Shaver gymnasiums and Peltier Hall are also used. Polk Hall is a multi-purpose building that houses the offices of the college dean, department head and faculty and staff members. It also contains technology-ready classrooms and specialized learning centers.
