Alyson Theriot and the College of Education faculty go way back.
As a young teacher and a master’s degree candidate, she always sought their advice and help. When later serving as a curriculum facilitator in charge of providing staff development for Lafourche Parish School System teachers, she collaborated with College of Education instructors to design and implement development sessions.
Now, she’s one of them. Theriot initially returned to Nicholls as the field experience coordinator, which allowed her to continue working with area public schools.
“When the opportunity to accept an assistant professorship presented itself, I jumped on it,” Theriot says. “My love is teaching, any age level. I simply love my job.”
During her student years at Nicholls, Theriot was a member of the girls track team and Nicholls Reading Council.
Theriot has two children, a son who is a Petroleum Services major at Nicholls and a daughter who attended Nicholls for two years before going on to graduate from LSU dental hygiene school in May of 2014.
