Associate Professor of Education and Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services
For Dr. Eugene Dial, working at Nicholls is enjoyable because he’s working with people who are interested in making things better not only for themselves but also for others.
It’s the motto he’s lived by since he arrived at Nicholls in May 1986 as a residence life coordinator for the NSYOU program. In August of that year, he was appointed director of residential services and became the dean of student life in 1991. From 1990 to 1997, he also served as an assistant professor of education, becoming an associate professor in 1998.
“The College of Education does an excellent job of providing learning opportunities for a very diverse group of individuals interested in education,” Dial says. “From birth to senior citizen learning, the entire range is covered.”
Dial currently serves as the vice president for student affairs and enrollment services, a position he has held since 2001.
In his spare time, Dial enjoys a range of activities including yard work, golf, watching sports and reading.
