Associate Professor of Teacher Education
Dr. Mary Junot knows the impact of getting involved in campus activities. Before joining the Nicholls staff in 1996, Junot spent 18 years as an extension agent working with 4-H youth and adult programs in Lafayette, Vermilion, Tensas and Concordia parishes.
Junot continues to encourage students to become involved in student and community organizations, meet new people and participate in new activities. She stresses the importance of gaining from life’s experiences, here in South Louisiana and in other areas of the country and world.
“After experiencing life elsewhere, you will have a greater understanding and appreciation of this culture when you return, ” Junot says. “I challenge students to find their talents, their strengths and what they’re passionate about and use that to improve the quality of life for individuals and families.”
Junot is a member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and the Louisiana Association of Family and Consumer Sciences as well as treasurer of the Southeast District of LAFCS. She lives in Houma with her son and daughter.
