Health and Physical Education
Living in a society dominated by poor nutrition habits, lack of exercise and high stress levels creates a need for professionals who can teach others how to lead healthy lifestyles.
The Nicholls heath and physical education program provides prospective teachers with the knowledge and hands-on experience they need to bring about a healthier world.

Courses focus on personal and community health issues, fitness, first aid, coaching and motor skills. Students are prepared to work with health issues unique to elementary and secondary school students, adults and disabled persons. The program not only focuses on personal fitness but also on the coaching of team and individual sports, allowing Nicholls students to work one-on-one with a local sports team. Field experiences and laboratory exercises are included in the majority of the courses.
