What is University College?

University College is responsible for: UC

  • enhancing the first-year experiences of students,
  • coordinating interdisciplinary academic programs that help students succeed academically and
  • unifying the university’s efforts to keep students on the path to graduation.

Departments and Programs

  • University College Academic Services  includes the Academic Advising Center, the Tutorial and Academic Enhancement Center, the Student Engagement Center, the Academic Testing Center, the Transfer Student Resource Center, and the University Honors Program.
  • The Chef John Folse Culinary Institute offers both associate and bachelor’s degrees in the culinary arts, creating a focal point for the study of classical cuisine, Louisiana’s culinary heritage, and exposure to both regional and global perspectives on the culinary industry.
  • The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies  offers both associate and bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies for students who desire a broad liberal education. The department also offers a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Foodservice Strategies and Operations through a consortium of the nine institutions of the University of Louisiana System.
