Communications Policy

Because of the importance of consistent, professional communications for Nicholls State University, a policy for review and approval is being implemented. The reviewing requirement for a particular type of communications product or project applies to anyone producing it, no matter what the funding source and no matter where the labor to produce it comes from.

Communications types and reviewing groups:

1) Strategic Communications Planning Committee

  • Admissions search materials
  • Nicholls Web site home page
  • Video and multimedia for the Web or other use
  • Television and radio commercials and broadcasts
  • Large outdoor displays, including billboard advertisements

2) University Relations and University Printing and Design Services

  • Athletics Web site home page
  • Print advertisements with a university-wide theme
  • Print advertisements with non-university-wide themes
  • Academic and non-academic newsletters
  • Academic and non-academic program brochures
  • Flyers, posters and other communications for University-wide events
  • Flyers, posters and other communications for departmental, school and athletic events
  • Invitations and tickets

3) University Printing and Design Services

  • Logos, including those for student organizations using official Nicholls graphics
  • Athletics media guides for revenue-generating sports (covers only)
  • Clothing and other products displaying the Nicholls logo
  • Letterheads, business cards and other stationery
  • Signs and vehicle emblems

4) Editorial Boards

  • The Colonel
  • Jubilee festival magazine
