Electronic Marquee

Mission

The electronic marquee supports the mission and vision of Nicholls State University, as outlined in the 2006-2010 strategic plan, by promoting and publicizing appropriate university and community events.

Policy

The electronic marquee serves the needs of the university community by displaying messages that promote Nicholls, as well as non-partisan, non-exclusionary community events. In addition, security alerts and public service announcements will be posted. Messages will not be posted that include personal information or messages, are partisan or exclusionary in nature. Additionally, marquee sponsors (Capital One, Sprint, Terrebonne General Medical Center and Coca Cola) may request “public service spots” be posted to the marquee.

Procedure

All electronic marquee requests must be submitted by Nicholls employees, students, or sponsors. Requests should be submitted at least one week prior to the event date, and will be posted beginning five days prior to the event date unless alternative arrangements are made. All emergency notices will be immediately posted and will run until the emergency has ended. The person or organization making the request is responsible for the accuracy of the information submitted. Once the request is received, the Office of University Relations will review, edit, prioritize, and post all messages to the electronic marquee. All requests are subject to the approval of the director of University Relations.

To submit information for the electronic marquee, contact the Office of University Relations via phone at 985.448.4143, e-mail at debbie.kliebert@nicholls.edu, or fax to Ext. 4891.
