Tips for New Students

cancienne-amber.jpgAs a new student, please remember to:

  • Make sure you know the dates for important activities such as the last date to pay fees, activating your schedule, dropping and/or adding classes, financial aid matters, etc. View the Nicholls academic calendar for more details.

  • Double check your enrollment in classes. Check ICAN for changes in meeting times, places, etc. Print a copy of your schedule.

  • Activate your schedule. If you do not owe any fees you must still activate your schedule by contacting the fee collection office in person or by phone or activating on ICAN.
  • If you still need to take any placement tests, be sure to contact the Academic Testing Center in 212 Elkins Hall or call 985.493.2599 to schedule.

  • Make plans to attend Freshman Institute. It is a mandatory first class meeting for all sections of UNIV 101.

  • Take care of business. If you have any financial aid, make sure all of your paperwork is completed and delivered to the Financial Aid Office by the deadline date.
