Participant Eligibility

Upward Bound serves 60 high school students annually.
Eligible participants must be:
- high school sophomores, juniors or seniors,
- between the ages of 13 and 19,
- enrolled in a public high school in Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish and
- in need of academic and/or personal support in order to succeed in high school and college.
Two-thirds of the participants must be low income and potential first generation college students. The remaining participants must be either low income or potential first generation college students. Participants are selected based upon recommendations from school officials, the community and social services agencies.
