The visual design of the websites at Nicholls are created and controlled by specialized formatting languages known as HTML and CSS. HTML acts as the structural framework for a web document while CSS is used to manipulate the visual attributes. Together with supporting images, HTML and CSS are combined to create the visual representations seen by visitors who visit nicholls.edu and other Nicholls branded websites using various types of devices. Web Style Guide documents are for Nicholls website editors and creators to help explain some style elements used within the templates and code developed by the Nicholls Website Manager.
Much of this documentation is highly technical and constantly being revised. A basic understanding of HTML and CSS is necessary when referencing this information. Nicholls web editors and others creating web documents using Nicholls themes and templates should contact the Nicholls Website Manager for support and questions about Web Style Guide documentation.
