Who are the Writing Tutors?
Writing tutors are primarily students who have completed their freshman-level English courses and have been highly recommended by their English instructors as good candidates to serve as tutors. All of the tutors are knowledgeable about the writing process and are trained to provide thoughtful responses to another student’s writing, whether the assignment is from a business, science, education or humanities class. Tutors work with writers at every stage of the writing process — from thinking, pre-writing and organizing to drafting, revising and proofreading.
Faculty tutors are individuals who hold at least a bachelor’s degree. They are, just as the peer tutors, trained in techniques that assist them in helping students become more productive writers.
