Who are the Writing Consultants?

Writing consultants are primarily students who have completed their freshman-level English courses and have been highly recommended by their English instructors as good candidates to serve as consultants. All of the consultants are knowledgeable about the writing process and are trained to provide thoughtful responses to another student’s writing, whether the assignment is from a business, science, education or humanities class. Consultants work with writers at every stage of the writing process — from thinking, pre-writing and organizing to drafting, revising and proofreading.

Faculty consultants are individuals who hold at least a bachelor’s degree. They are, just as the peer consultants, trained in techniques that assist them in helping students become more productive writers.
