Mission and Purpose
Mission Statement
The mission of WRSO is to support the university’s mission through advocacy, programming and services. Our intent is to assist students in reaching their academic goals in an environment that is free of violence, harassment, sexism and other forms of oppression. The WRSO will strive to create a supportive, respectful, and inclusive campus environment for men and women through advocacy, programming and services that promote healthy lifestyles, personal development, leadership and social justice activism.

“We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.” Marian Wright Edelman |
Purpose
To fulfill the mission, the WRSO will provide adequate space and programs to aid and enhance the growth of women throughout the university; advocate for the removal of barriers that inhibit the full participation of women in the community and promote non-oppressive attitudes and behaviors in all individuals.
