Membership

Continuing its affiliation with Nicholls State University, the chapter inducts new members annually in the fall, including eligible senior and graduating baccalaureate nursing students, nurse professionals and community members. Information will be sent to eligible students who meet the criteria listed below. A link to the STT online application center will be included in the text of the invitation.

Current Xi Zeta members nominate community candidates for membership.

Undergraduate students must have met the following criteria:

  • Completed one-half of the nursing curriculum.
  • Earned a 3.0 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale).
  • Rank in the upper 35 percent of their graduating class.
  • Met the exception of academic integrity.

RN BSN students must have met the following criteria:

  • Completed one-half of the nursing curriculum.
  • Earned a 3.0 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale).
  • Rank in the upper 35 percent of their graduating class.
  • Met the exception of academic integrity.
  • Completed 12 credit hours at current school.

Community leaders/nurse professionals must have met the following criteria:

  • Be a registered nurse.
  • Hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing or another field.
  • Have demonstrated marked achievement in nursing education, practice, research, administration or publication.
