Accreditation

The Accounting program is accredited by AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It has held this accreditation, a distinction shared by only the top third of U.S. business schools, since 1983. Only 10 percent of business schools globally are accredited by the AACSB International. The College of Business Administration is also accredited by AACSB International.

The accounting program at Nicholls has constructed its own mission which complements the mission of the college and the university:

Consistent with the College of Business, the AACSB-accredited Accounting program at Nicholls State University positively impacts the social and economic vitality of the region and beyond by professionally servicing regional and global companies/industries and positioning students to successfully meet workforce development needs as well-educated, responsible, and engaged accounting professionals.

Hence, our degree plan meets the stringent educational requirements set forth by AACSB for a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
