Amy Jo Wisehart
Amy Jo Wisehart was born in Quincy, Illinois in 1987, and was raised in La Grange, Missouri. In 2006, she moved to Southern Louisiana. Amy Jo then completed her BFA at Nicholls State University in 2013 with a senior exhibition that included photography, painting and papermaking. She has since lived in both Oregon and Amsterdam before coming back to South Louisiana.
In 2013, she was awarded a scholarship to attend Penland School of Arts & Crafts where she studied with Arno Rafael Minkkinen. She has exhibited her photos in the Society for Photographic Education’s South Central Member and Student Show in Galveston, TX. She was also selected for exhibition in the Foto Foto Gallery’s 9th Annual Photography Competition in Huntington, New York as well as for a solo exhibition of her paintings and photography in San Antonio, Texas. Amy was also selected for the Raw Artists Showcase, Portland, OR in 2015 and The Guest Directed Self Portrait Project, Brooklyn, NY in 2016. Her work has been included in several periodicals including Lifesize Magazine, Revelist and Mic.com.
