Rusty Bouvier

Rusty Paul Bouvier is a New Orleans based artist from Lockport, LA with a background in fine art, commercial art, and rock-n-roll. After receiving his BFA in Sculpture from Nicholls State University in 2009, he became the Community Development Coordinator for the Houma Regional Arts Council in Houma, LA. In 2012, he moved to Dallas,TX to work as a production artist for Mecca Design & Production, Inc. While there, he was a resident artist and Interim Creative Director for Nerv Gallery. He returned to New Orleans in 2015 and founded Night Owl Studio, LLC in 2016. He spent the majority of 2017 working as a CNC mill operator and carpenter for Solomon Group.

He is currently a full-time owner, operator, and employee of the month at Night Owl Studio, LLC, a woodshop focused on contemporary craft. He is also the proud father of a beautiful 7 month old boy, his greatest creation.

The human condition, and ephemerality are reoccurring themes in his work; he’ll often use humor and tongue-in-cheek narratives to make social commentary. He has exhibited nationally and has work housed in public and private collections.
