Jean Nunez Donegan

Jean Donegan is the Head of the Department of Art and Lorio Endowed Professor in Fine Arts. She has been on the faculty of Nicholls since 1995. She teaches Ceramics, Art Education and Design.

Ms. Donegan exhibits her ceramic sculpture in galleries and museums throughout the United States and has been featured in national magazines such as Ceramics Monthly, Studio Potter and Arts and Activities. She has exhibited internationally as well, and was selected for exhibition in the 5th World Ceramic Biennale in Korea. Her work also appears in the books “The New Ceramic Art” published by North Light, “500 Teapots II” and “500 Cups” published by Lark Press. Her ceramic sculpture is represented in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Museum’s Renwick Gallery of Contemporary Art.

She has been recognized at Nicholls as a Distinguished Service Professor and was also awarded the Presidential Award for Teaching Excellence and the Marie Fletcher Distinguished Service Award. Ms. Donegan is the director of the department of art’s Study Abroad Program.
