Printmaking & Papermaking
It’s about ink and pressure.
The Department of Art has a comprehensive printmaking and paper-making program. Studies in printmaking include stone and plate lithography, relief printing, Intaglio, screen-printing, letterpress and digital printing. Papermaking includes two and three-dimensional processes such as sheet forming, pulp painting and pulp spraying techniques.
Printmaking enjoys a collaborative relationship with drawing, painting, photography and graphic design, with projects designed to enhance and re-contextualize those skills and processes through printmaking media. Interdisciplinary work is encouraged. Letterpress printing, with both movable type and photopolymer plates; serves the creative interests of both the fine artist and designer.
