Printmaking & Paper-making

It’s about ink and pressure.

The Department of Art has a comprehensive printmaking and papermaking program. Studies in printmaking include stone and plate lithography, relief printing, Intaglio, screen-printing, letterpress and digital printing. Papermaking includes two and three-dimensional processes such as sheet forming, pulp painting and pulp spraying techniques.

Printmaking enjoys a collaborative relationship with drawing, painting, photography and graphic design, with projects designed to enhance and re-contextualize those skills and processes through printmaking media. Interdisciplinary work is encouraged. Letterpress printing, with both movable type and photopolymer plates serves the creative interests of both the fine artist and designer.
