Support the College of Business

There are various ways the community can support the College of Business at Nicholls State University:

Donate to the Capstone Fund : The College of Business Administration Capstone Fund is a fundraising initiative to build a $1 million permanent endowment.  The interest earned on the endowment will be used to provide scholarships and financial aid for deserving students, attract and retain excellent faculty in all disciplines, improve technology in classrooms and laboratories, and maintain AACSB International accreditation. To learn how you can contribute to the future growth of the College of Business, please contact Dr. Marilyn Macik-Frey at (985) 448-4171.

Endow a Professorship:  The College of Business is home to several professorships. Endowed professorships are established to help recruit and retain superior faculty whose research, teaching, and/or public service uniquely contribute to the mission(s) of their departments, their campuses, and the State.  If you are interested in endowing a professorship, contact University Advancement.

Donate to The Business Closet: Experts say if something has not been worn in six months, it may be time to pass it along. Students on a budget will be able to choose one complete outfit per academic year, free of charge.  Thus,  The Business Closet is seeking business attire that is cleaned prior to donation and is of good to excellent quality.  Drop off your donations to the Dean’s Office, 106 White Hall.  Hangers and clothing racks will also be accepted, as will monetary donations.

Sponsor an internship: The Internship Program offers students an opportunity to combine their academic preparation with practical, real-world business experience. The program attempts to place business students in internships with both public and private organizations throughout the region and beyond.  If your business is interested in sponsoring an internship, click here.

Participate in the Colonel Job Shadowing Program: The Colonel Job Shadowing Program gives undergraduate students the opportunity to spend a half- or full day “shadowing” a business professional in an area of interest.  This one-on-one experience gives students an inside glimpse of what a particular occupation entails.  Those interested in acting as a professional role model should click here.

Endow a scholarship: Through the generous support of our donors, we are able to award several privately funded scholarships annually.   To make a gift, contact the Dean’s office, 106 White Hall, (985) 448-4179.

Become a guest speaker:   Faculty welcome guest speakers and presentations by executives enhance the learning experience. Contact a faculty member or one of our department heads for more information.
