A minimum grade of C is required in ENGL 101, 102 and for all non GER courses. Core courses (FACS 131, 334, 448, 461, 464, 493 and 494) must be completed at Nicholls State University. The General Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum prepares graduates for employment in community institutions and\/or agencies working with children and families as well as to pursue a graduate degree in Social Work Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling and other course\/subject-matter related fields.<\/p>\n<p>The department offers graduate-level programs in school counseling, psychological counseling, and school psychology. Additional information about these programs may be found in the Graduate Studies section of this <em>Catalog<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Eighteen hours of coursework with a minimum grade of C in each course is required for a minor. Minors available and course requirements are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>ADDICTIVE BEHAVIORS: FACS 131, 334, 448, 461, 464, 471, NURS 307, and SOCI 387.
