Bio:

Dr. Pokharel received his B. Sc. and M. Sc from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. After teaching for five years back in Nepal, he joined the University of Kentucky for the PhD program in 2007 where he studied synthetic methodologies of organometallic heterocycles and polyacenes with Prof. John Selegue. After his graduation in 2012, he moved to LSU for post-doctoral research where he studied the construction of metal-organic supramolecules and their interactions with small molecular guests with Prof. Andrew Maverick. Since he joined Nicholls in 2015, he has been active in research in areas of organometallic and supramolecular chemistry. He has been the recipient of the Academic Affairs Award for Teaching Excellence from the College of Science & Technology at Nicholls State University.
