Michael Borntreger

Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Michael Borntreger currently resides in Tampa and has successfuly completed his B. A. in Spanish at the University of Tampa in December of 2021 and has been accepted to the University of South Florida to begin his M. A. in Spanish in August of 2022. During his undergraduate studies, in addition to his Spanish major, Michael minored in Applied Linguistics which is what inspired this research project. As a non-native speaker, he also earned a Superior rating on the Spanish ACTFL speaking exam.

Following the completion of his M. A., Michael plans to pursue a doctorate in Linguistics with a focus in Second Language Acquisition and to eventually become a professor focused on teaching second lanuages and researching language teaching pedagogy. For now, however, Michael is focusing on studying Spanish and Hispano-American Literature and History.
