Mary Frances Cali is a Creative Writing student at Nicholls State University. She was born and raised in Patterson, Louisiana and attended Central Catholic High School, where one of her teachers inspired her to pursue an English degree. She is currently the President of the Nicholls Creative Writing Club, a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Eta Sigma Honors Societies, and a Colonel Catholic. She has worked as a reporter for the campus magazine Nicholls Worth and holds a student worker position at the campus library. After graduating from Nicholls, Mary wants to teach English either at the high school or college level. Her deepest desire is to serve and share Christ’s love, and she feels called to do so through teaching as well as writing. Her works of fiction and poetry typically surround the themes of hope, love, and beauty in the midst of a troubled world.
