Summer is a student at Nicholls State University pursuing a Secondary Education degree with a concentration in English. Born in Houma, she graduated from Central Lafourche High School in 2013. After taking a break from school to focus on family, she decided to pursue higher education in 2020 and has attended Nicholls since. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Tau Delta. Summer has also been published in the Nicholls Mosaic magazine for multiple writings and photography. Currently, she is in her second semester of residency at Destrehan High School teaching English I. Summer has future aspirations of earning her master’s in library science and eventually becoming a librarian after a career of teaching.
