Take a Well-Deserved Break

Dear Members of the Nicholls Community,

The Nicholls family has worked very hard these past few weeks to ensure that the mission of our university continues throughout the COVID-19 crisis. I expected no less. Through our shared experiences of hurricanes, budget cuts, and living on a fragile landscape we are a resilient people. Time and time again, our family has pulled together to get through the tough times.

Our students and faculty have had to adapt to a completely different way of learning and teaching. Staff have scrambled to make our paper processes virtual. Almost all these virtual services will not be available Friday and Monday for the holiday (this does not include Moodle, which remains available 24/7). Other services will be available when staff returns to remote working on Tuesday.

It is important to our physical and mental well-being to take a break. As we break, however, we must remain mindful of the serious threat that COVID-19 poses to our health and the health of our loved ones. It is imperative that we practice social distancing and avoid gathering in social groups. We have not yet seen the apex of COVID-19 in Louisiana. Be smart. Be safe.

May your break be characterized by good health and rejuvenation.

Geaux Colonels.
