Mask Up Now And We Can Get Back To Normal Sooner

Dear Nicholls Community,

I want to thank everyone who has continued to follow our guidelines on returning to campus safely. But if we want to fully return to the Nicholls Experience we know and love, we can’t get complacent. We must stay vigilant in protecting each and every member of our community.

Safety is our top priority, and we share in Gov. John Bel Edwards’ alarm at the spike in cases in recent weeks. That is why we now require that every member of the Nicholls community wear a mask in public spaces around campus.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend cloth face coverings as a way to slow the spread of the virus by decreasing the chance that individuals infected with the virus spread it to others.

So what is a public space? It’s our buildings, bathrooms and hallways. It’s walking across campus. The only time it is acceptable to remove your mask is when you are in your office or your office suite.

I believe that because of the actions we have taken to sanitize and clean our spaces, that we can return to campus safely. I just need your help. Avoid large crowds. Wash your hands regularly. Stay six feet apart. And please wear your mask. #MaskUp
