Welcome Back

Dear Colonels,

It has been 149 days and 14 hours since we first announced that our classes would be moved online indefinitely. But who’s counting. Welcome back to campus.

We are still in the midst of a global pandemic, but we are better prepared to provide our academic services in a safe manner. At Nicholls the safety of our people remains our number one priority.

And while many of our students and faculty have been at home, our staff have never left. We have spent thousands of hours preparing for your arrival, so that you could return to renovated facilities that allow for social distancing. So that we could offer programs adjusted to a Hyflex model of teaching that allows students to have important time in the classroom but in safer numbers.

We have spent the summer testing checkpoints and our new cleaning methods. Our maintenance crew and custodians have installed sanitation stations in buildings across campus. And we have embraced the policies of wearing masks and social distancing.

We may look different, but we’ll adapt. And we’ll continue to provide the best possible experience, in the safest possible conditions. Welcome to the Fall 2020 semester and Geaux Colonels.

With Colonel Pride,

Jay Clune, President
Nicholls State University
