All members of the Nicholls State University Behavioral Analysis Team (BAT) are charged with protecting any and all information about individuals whose situations are reviewed by the team. Team members may at any given time through case review have access to personal information about an individual (student, staff or faculty) in the form of documents, official discussions, e-mail, records or other means. Referring persons and other individuals and groups are not allowed access to the materials associated with the case or to the final written report.
Exceptions to Confidentiality
- Relevant information will be submitted to appropriate administrators and/or University Police.
- Administrators will notify constituents as necessary should a threat to safety be identified
- An individual being reviewed by the team may choose to sign a release allowing the team to share information with specific individuals or groups.
