Faculty members teaching online have the option to use a remote proctoring service. ProctorU is available for faculty who want to have the students take their test by a remote proctor. There is no cost to the University, but a cost-per-test for the students. If you plan on using this service, please include the attached statement in your syllabus.

Online faculty members are required to take a two-week online training through Quality Matters. Below is information about the two courses. Contact Dr. Andrew Simoncelli if you are interested in taking one of them.
Improving Your Online Course (IYOC)
The “Improve Your Online Course” workshop explores the QM Rubric and provides a framework to improve the quality of online courses. Participants use the QM Rubric to review their online courses and develop a course improvement plan. The content is based on the eight general standards of the Quality Matters Rubric. You should have an online course ready to improve. This course is not for building a course from scratch.
Participants need access to an existing online course. Course lasts two weeks and is taught entirely online. Participants can expect to spend about 8-10 hours per week to successfully complete this workshop.
Designing Your Online Course (DYOC)
The “Designing Your Online Course” (formerly Build Your Online Course) workshop includes an overview of the QM Rubric and provides a framework to design an online course plan. Participants explore all eight key standards of the QM Rubric, focusing on learning objectives and overall course alignment.
Course lasts two weeks and is taught entirely online. Participants can expect to spend about 8-10 hours per week to successfully complete this workshop.
