Creative Scholars Camp

The Louisiana Center for Dyslexia and Related Learning Disorders will host its Creative Scholars Camp on July 18-July 22, 2017 for students entering grades 4th through 9th grades. Students with dyslexia can improve their reading comprehension, writing, math, and study skills at this summer camp that mixes fun activities with learning. Students also have the chance to interact socially with other students with similar difficulties.  Participants are required to provide evidence that they have been identified by their schools as having characteristics of dyslexia in order to attend.

Dates: July 18-July 22, 2017.

Cost:  Day Camp Only: $425,       Day Camp with Overnight Accommodations: $625

Dyslexia Screening and Remediation Workshop

The Louisiana Center for Dyslexia is offering an interactive, hands-on workshop where participants will learn how to screen for dyslexia and related learning disorders and learn techniques for remediation on May 9, 10, & 11, 2017 at the Claiborne Building in Baton Rouge.  Please see the attached flyer for more information and to register.

Summer Reading Remediation

The Louisiana Center for Dyslexia will offer summer reading remediation for students in Grades K-12 from June 5-August 4.  Exact times will be determined as students are screened and grouped.  The focus will be on decoding and/comprehension as needed.  An initial reading screening will be used to determine placement into the program.  This will NOT be a diagnostic assessment and CANNOT be used to obtain accommodations in school.  Cost for initial screening and 16 remediation sessions (approximately 1-1 1/2 hours each) will be $345.  For more information or to register, call 985-448-4214.
