Professional position or role within the College of Education:
“My responsibilities include instructing undergraduate courses within the Birth – Five Early Intervention program as well as assisting and guiding candidates who wish to obtain a Louisiana Teaching Certificate through the College of Education Alternative Certification or Master of Arts in Teaching Degree program.”
Accomplishments in relation to professional occupational field:
“I am involved in assisting College of Education faculty and staff with various tasks and programs. Currently, I am assisting in the preparations for a site-visit from our national accreditation agency (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) which includes the organization of data, aesthetic components, and logistical planning. I also serve as a leader in the College of Education’s student organization – NEAT. This organization serves the university and the College of Education in providing service-learning type activities for the College of Education candidates. These activities include fundraisers to benefit the community and the university. I am also assisting fellow professionals within the Statewide Curriculum Program in the development of curricula for Early Childhood Education.”
What are some interesting facts about yourself?
“Outside of Nicholls, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, his two girls, and our extended families. We enjoy “do-it-yourself” projects and often have more than one in process at any given time. I also enjoy reading in my spare time and try to travel to the beach or tropical islands as often as possible. We thoroughly enjoy “cruising” and have recently made “cruising” an annual vacation.”
Complete one of the following statements: “My dream job other than teaching at Nicholls would be…” -OR- “My future career aspirations include…”
“My future career aspirations include obtaining a Doctorate in Education with a concentration in either Early Childhood Education Curriculum and Instruction or Early Childhood Education Philosophy. My goal is to begin teaching undergraduate courses within the Birth to Five/Early Intervention program here in the College of Education and possibly teach Early Childhood Education graduate level courses in the future.”
Answer one of the following questions: If you were to win the lottery, what would you do with the winnings? -OR- If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
“If I were to win the lottery, I would pay off all personal debt, as well as financially assist extended family. I would also establish a college fund for my fiancé’s two children, my nephew, and my godchildren for the duration of their college careers. I would then design and open a child-care facility for children with special needs from birth to the age of five. This facility would provide the latest tools and resources to accommodate children with special needs, including a full staff of highly qualified professionals who specialized in various fields of special education. With the remaining monies, I would purchase a beach house on a secluded island to enjoy a little rest and relaxation.”
